Kale Celery and Ginger Detox Juice

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh kale leaves, stems removed (about 2-3 large leaves)
  • 3-4 celery stalks (approximately 1 cup chopped)
  • 1 small knob fresh ginger, peeled (around 1-inch)
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1 green apple (optional, for sweetness)
  • 2 cups filtered water

Instructions
 

  • Thoroughly wash all produce under cool running water.
  • Remove stems from kale leaves and tear into smaller pieces.
  • Roughly chop celery into 1-inch pieces.
  • Peel the ginger using the edge of a spoon.
  • If using apple, core and chop into chunks (leave skin on).
  • Add kale, celery, ginger, and apple (if using) to your blender.
  • Squeeze in the juice from a lemon.
  • Pour in the filtered water.
  • Blend on low speed initially, then increase to high for about 60 seconds until smooth.
  • For a smoother texture, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth.
  • Press with the back of a spoon to extract all liquid.
  • Pour into a glass over ice and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Storage: Best consumed immediately, but can be stored in an airtight glass container for up to 48 hours.
  • Customization: Add a small cucumber for extra hydration or a pinch of turmeric for additional anti-inflammatory benefits.
  • Sweetness: If too bitter, increase the apple amount or add a teaspoon of honey.
  • Texture: For a thinner consistency, add more water during blending.
  • Serving: Drink on an empty stomach in the morning for maximum absorption of nutrients.
